Barbarataps

Barbara Vargas is a tap dancer with a performance career spanning over two decades. While already working as a dance educator and performer, she fell in love with dancing alongside musicians. In 2013, she took the step to pursue a Diploma in Music at Vancouver Community College, using her shoes as her major instrument.

Since then, Barbara has collaborated with jazz musicians, vocalists, and swing bands at major venues and festivals including the Edmonton Jazz Festival, Yardbird Suite, and the Vancouver International Tap Dance Festival. She has been featured in musical projects like the Way Back Whens, the Mary Lee Bird Band, the Lindsey Walker Band, and the Kent Shores Group, to name a few.
